Plastering and Clearances in Lowestoft

We do plastering in Lowestoft, from skimming one wall to re-plastering every room, and we clear houses, rooms and gardens.

What to send first

  • Which rooms, walls or ceilings need plastering
  • For clearances, what needs removing and roughly how much
  • Whether the work is part of a bigger renovation

We do plastering in Lowestoft, from skimming a single wall to re-plastering every room in a house. A skim coat gives a smooth new finish over sound walls and ceilings. Where plaster is damaged or blown, we hack it off and re-plaster the wall from scratch.

During a refurbishment, plastering comes after the strip-out and the first stage of any plumbing, so the walls are ready for decorating. The stairwell in our gallery is one example, photographed mid-plaster and again when the house was finished.

Clearances are often the first step of a bigger job. We clear houses, rooms and gardens, take away the waste, and leave the space ready for the next stage of work. A clearance can also be booked by itself, for example when a property is being emptied before it is sold or renovated. If you need both, doing the clearance and plastering together saves arranging two separate jobs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between skimming and re-plastering?
Skimming puts a thin new finish over walls that are sound. Re-plastering is needed when the old plaster is cracked, loose or damaged.
How long before I can paint new plaster?
It needs to dry fully first, which depends on the thickness, the room and the time of year. A mist coat of thinned emulsion is the usual first coat.
Do you take the waste away after a clearance?
Yes, removing the waste is part of the job, so the space is left empty.
